Are there a finite number of souls created at one time?

It was said in a previous statement that perfected souls are absorbed into Deity.

This means the souls "die" and are not truly immortal. I would think that what dies must have been born. I'm assuming here that "merged into The Deity" indicates dissolution.

Again, as in a previous lesson, does the animus mundi (soul of the cosmos) die?

Cosmologically, this is an important question.
I suspect that if the cosmic soul "dies", it would die at the end of time itself.
It's odd for me to conceive of the "end of time".
My assumption here is that there is a level of cosmology where time does not exist. I would call this Eternity. The Platonic realm of the Mind and Forms. The roots of Deity exist within this eternity. Neoplatonically, one could conceive of souls being re-absorbed into the cosmic soul and perhaps others being born. It would be VERY odd to say that time would end. There are two levels of the temporal universe in Neoplatonism. First there is a temporal realm without space. Then there is physical reality. Perhaps there is a realm between them called nature. Souls are rooted within this upper temporal, non-spacial realm. Their various layers of vehicles or sheathes allow them to experience natural/spacial reality. It's much easier for me to conceive of the spatial universe ending and being reborn than it is for me to conceive of the temporal, non-spatial realm to come to an end.

What is "evil"?
For me, evil is a deliberate turning away from the Source and demands that its own individuality take priority over others. This is usually accompanied by a declaration that there is no underlying Unity/Deity/Ground-of-Being. If the existence of Deity is acknowledged then it is thought of as being completely ontologically separate.
Are "Evil Angels" really evil or are the fulfilling a cosmic, evolutionary function by providing temptation to us so we can grow beyond it. Muscles don't grow without weights to work against.

....results: I find myself in complete agreement with the concept of reincarnation. The concept of being linked with a stronger soul is new to me and interesting. For some reason, I find the idea of it taking only two or three lives repugnant. My feeling is that I've been going for dozens of lives at least. Even if I disagree, why would I find the idea so a soul only getting a couple of lives so negative. Perhaps because I feel like I still am so very far from "getting it right".

....results: What criteria is used to determine into what kind of body/personality the soul will incarnate? Let's assume it is to equilibrate or purify something. What is this something? It shouldn't be the personality as that is not trans-incarnational. It must be part of the soul. Can we assume that the current nature of the soul determines the quality (strengths and weaknesses) of the personality during incarnation? Is the purpose of this process to produce a more perfect personality and if so, to what purpose? Or is it only to produce a more perfect soul?

Daily-life: Lazy holiday vacation spent at home. I always struggle with the ability to sacrifice immediate comfort and gratification, on a daily basis, to perform the work. Oh, Mighty Saturn, whose governance is discipline, help me to persevere into this work on a daily basis. Help me to devote myself to you and this work.

....results: For me, the primary question is whether the word "before" above indicates ontological priority or temporal priority. Neoplatonism definitely supports the idea of ontological priority of the "upper worlds" but definitely not temporal priority. In most of neoplatonism, the manifest world has no beginning or ending.
I imagine that each incarnation is as a leaf on a great tree. The human souls are life the twigs and/or branches that produce the leaf.

I saw the sephirot at a group of colored lenses. Each lens showed a different aspect of a thing. Let's take an animal, for example. One lens shows the outer covering and colors. Another lens shows the bones. Another shows the blood vessels. Another shows the lymph glands. Another shows the digestive tract. Another shows the nervous system and brain. Each lens shows a different aspect of an interlocking system.

....results: This is a difficult one. What I got was that because the qabalah is a system of mentation (Dion Fortune - Mystical Qabalah), that it can be used to analyze anything and everything deeply. The qabalah is a map of both the macrocosm and the microcosm. Therefore, everything falls under its microscope. I think the qabalah, in this context, also means the interlinking of astrology, tarot, and alchemy, and qabalah into a single coherent system.

....results: I had trouble concentrating tonight. I am quite familiar with Neoplatonism. I find that Hermetic Qabalah and Neoplatonism blend in a very synergistic and interesting way. I did, imagine, however, a stone dropped into the center of a circular pond. The wave went out, bounced back from the edges and went back into the center.
I performed the lustration before the ritual as described in Threshold lesson 7. I did, however, forget to perform the adoration after the meditation but before releasing the wards.

1) The body is a temple, treat it accordingly.

2) Part of my spiritual mission is to express my spiritual aspirations in material form. Without this, what's the use?

4) I envisioned myself in the same forest as before but this time I'm a tree. When I say the statement above, "The Kingdom of Spirit is embodied in my flesh", then suddenly acorns start falling steadily from my branches, almost like rain.

5) I imagine the Wheel of Fortune Tarot card. Keter is suddenly in the middle and Malkuth is the very outside edges of the wheel or perhaps that's Yesod and Malkuth is the outside of the wheel entirely. Energy flows from the center, Keter, outward towards Malkuth as the wheel spins via centrifugal force. Yet, by some secret channel, the energy then flows back into the center of Keter.

....results: I imagined myself sitting on a tree stump beside where I'm buried in the Netzach meditation and over which the cave is in my Hod meditation. I think of the words and it comes to me that I need to pay attention to how not only my deeds, not only my words, but also my very thoughts relate to my quest for spiritual progress. Then a phrase from my twelve step work comes into my mind, "Truth at all costs". If I am to rest my life upon the Foundation of Eternal Being, then I become willing to see the deepest truth, no matter how disturbing, about both myself and the universe. This means trying to let go of my fears and the delusions that I use to hide from them. Very hard work indeed!

....results: I imagined meditating in lotus position on the grass in the forest in which I was buried in the previous Netzach meditation. The other copy of me was still buried in front of me. I then entered the ground somehow into a small cavern below where I was buried. Crystals started growing out of the ceiling and walls. Some of them channeled in light from the surface. I ran my hands along the ceiling and whispered "I love you, brother" to my other body buried just above me in this cave.

The next thing that happened is that Darth Vader appeared before me with his light saber lit. We approached each other in silence. He turned off his light saber and we sat down on the floor facing each other, both in lotus position (padmasana). We sat on the floor facing each other meditating.

Daily-life: I usually struggle more with laziness on the weekends than during the week. I'm struggling with laziness today too. This is why it's so late for me to get started on my studies.
