Meditation: (3) That human souls were pre-existent in an upper world before the origin of this
present world.
....time: 22:15
....duration: 10 minutes
....results: For me, the primary question is whether the word "before" above indicates ontological priority or temporal priority. Neoplatonism definitely supports the idea of ontological priority of the "upper worlds" but definitely not temporal priority. In most of neoplatonism, the manifest world has no beginning or ending.
I imagine that each incarnation is as a leaf on a great tree. The human souls are life the twigs and/or branches that produce the leaf.
